In the future, the past has already occured.
So I’m trying to figure out what to do from here. I want to apply for doctoral programs, but I don’t have a solid list of people or schools to work with at the moment. I’m also not really sure if my Greek is up to par for a New Testament studies program. And while I’ve caught up on a lot of the classics in the field - F.C. Bauer, Albert Schweitzer, etc. - my knowledge of contemporary scholarship is somewhat lacking. So here’s the question…finish off grad school and then take a year off, teaching at Hamilton and taking additional language courses perhaps, which would give me time to focus on the application process and become better prepared; or, try to hustle and get applications in right now (within the next month, at the very least) which could leave me underprepared and unable to devote as much time as I should to the process.
So that’s that. In other news, I’ve been listening to a large amount of Ratatat recently. Ever since I helped Sean move (for the second time) I’ve been digging their musical stylings. Just thought I’d share.
There’s a girl wandering the hall chatting on her cell phone. Apparently, Jake broke up with her right before the big party she’s been waiting for all year. So now she’s totally going to go flirt with everyone there. I’m glad she’s taking such a proactive stance.
