This is a procrastination-fueled posting.
Turns out that my SPL (Scottish Premier League) team, the Heart of Midlothian, is owned by a rather interesting Lithuanian businessman (Vladimir Romanov) who recently canned the team captain. That can’t be a good idea. It’s going to hurt their defense, and its certainly alienated most of the fans. I can’t say I know too much about Pressley, but he doesn’t seem a bad sort, and he’s one of the few Scots remaining on the team at this point. I was fine with Romanov last year when he brought in a bunch of Lithuanians but managed to place second in the league, but this year they don’t seem headed anywhere.
And AC Milan seems mired at the bottom of the table, unable to score any goals whatsoever.
Also, Newcastle is out of the running. On the bright side, they might get Michael Owen back sometime in Febraury. Then he can play his 12th game for the team since they bought him in 2005.
Ugh. My support for a team is the kiss of death, it seems.
