Today, while surfing the internet, I ran across an old article via lifehacker about things to do with an old iPod. As my old 40 GB 4th gen has been essentially out of commission since sometime this summer, I thought I’d give it a look. Turns out, one can replace the hard drive of a dead iPod. And with nothing left to lose, and on the advice of some commenters, I attempted the “smack the hard drive back into alignment” trick. Which somehow worked. I have a once-more functional iPod. And a loose connection somewhere it seems. I may take it apart and see what I’m dealing with sometime this week.
Actual update sometime soon.
